I was sitting on a couple songs from this album and never got around to giving them a shot. It’s a good thing I didn’t cause I would have never heard this ditty. Throw this bitch on repeat, it’s got such a good bass line there’s no possible way you can’t get hooked.
I’ve really really loved these guys ever since I saw diving bell and the butterfly. Great fucking roll n roll band with enough soul and guitar to keep you amped till kingdom come… I gotta see these guys live, 2 fucking drummers
I’ve never been as crazed about these guys the way most of the world has been since, what feels like, forever. As a young teen with a bull cut I learned creep on the acoustic guitar and called it a day. Years later I was then able to experience a couple of amazing shows back to back that made me a believer after the in rainbows album. Then I saw tom solo featuring a little flea action and after this one nearly brought me to tears, I slowly started to abandon my protest.
One thing I love about Grizzly Bear, besides the build up and intensity of many of their songs, is that randomly and consistently I’m able to find gems through all of their albums that make me listen 50 times in a row.
Started going backwards with this catalog and found my favorite song pleasantly placed #1 on their second album. The lead singer has a howling voice, she’s got to in my collection. It’s just a fun one, and a little empowering…even before that bitch Florence.
Amazing cover…Nirvana’s cover is gritty and perfect and this one is right up there. Like many growing up partially stupid, and of course buying anything Nirvana did, I had always thought Nirvana was the originator. Thanks to the internet I have since discovered that a man that goes by the name Lead Belly was the true #1 stunna. Check out some of his stuff, you’d be surprised all the titles you’ll know …If you’re not a fan of any of the versions, kiss my ass.
